Beware the Inept 4

Benny’s training has been storming ahead – his regime is planned down to the tiniest detail. He’s intending to get started on it very soon. In the meantime he’s been raising funds through doing jobs for people – directing local traffic naked, offering board and lodging to itinerant pigeons and panning for gold in the River Ribble to name a few, all of which is helping him gain a great base level of fitness and raise a few quid for the challenge ahead.
Llew has been concentrating on remaining uninjured and upping his aerobic fitness by doing the same run with no hills on it every week for the past couple of months and very little besides. His one foray into alternative endeavours resulted in a hamstring injury and so he is currently focussed on beef stew and lebkuchen cross-training. He is hoping his ability to touch type will come in handy in the kayak for en-route blogging and get him out of doing any real work.
Pierre has been diligently pursuing an aggressive training regimen, attending the gym at least three times a week and getting out on his bike regularly. Now he’s looking to concentrate on fundraising and is looking for great ideas to raise money, having turned down the opportunity to run the Ulan Bator marathon dressed as Windsor Castle.
Since Christmas, Rachel’s training has been going well. Initially she concentrated on increasing muscle mass through consumption of copious amounts of steak and has reacquainted herself with the skills required to ascend mountains swiftly by climbing an Andean foothill – albeit on horseback. Realising the limited time remaining before D-Day, she took the decision to try to combine the different disciplines required in the triathlon by tackling a mountain bike route in the North Downs and sitting in an icy puddle simultaneously. She has now retired to the gym to work on her upper body strength and jacuzzi skills.
