Welcome to Sophie's Legacy

This website is dedicated to Sophie Drury, a wonderfully inspirational woman who defied the odds in battling ovarian cancer for almost a decade. Her story has inspired wherever it has been heard.

Despite numerous major operations, Sophie refused to let the disease prevent her from enjoying life to the full, whether skiing, diving, running or simply making the most of every precious minute with her beloved husband Rob.

Within weeks of her death in April 2008, Rob and their many family and friends had decided that Sophie’s name and incredible determination to succeed would live on. So was born Sophie’s Legacy.

In March 2009 fifty friends and family ran the Rome marathon in the pink and yellow t-shirts of Sophie’s Legacy. The acheivements of that day in memory of Sophie were remarkable.

£107,586 was raised for the two charities that Sophie herself wanted to be supported in her name – Prospect Hospice and Macmillan Nurses.

Please take a few minutes to read this website and learn more about Sophie and our plans to ensure that her memory is remembered in the best way possible. We would be delighted to hear from you if you feel you would like to support our efforts in any way at all.
